I came to know Mariia through our work together on my documentary, The Longer You Bleed, where she envisioned and built the film's entire sound world. She led a team of collaborators while taking on many roles herself (vocals, production, sound design, and the considerable organisational work of identifying and coordinating new contributors for her team). Balancing all of this was nothing short of masterful. What stood out, though, was not only the craft, but the depth of the partnership. This was never simply an "effective" collaboration - it was a genuinely meaningful creative one. And the film is the richer for it. Mariia is fiercely dedicated to her art form. Not only on an artistic level, but on a level of broader integrity. Anyone who knows her will tell you this. That feels more important now than ever, and it's a quality I've been trying to learn from. Hiring her again for our next project was an easy decision.
